Finals are finally done.

I have arrived home.. and nothing has ever felt better. Its perfect.

I learned more this past week than I could have ever imagined.

Flying is a spiritual journey for me--every time.

For some reason I am cursed with never being able to sleep on any plane, 

the movie options are not even considerable, 

and the motion sickness 

doesn't allow me to catch up in my latest reads.

But i wouldn't have it any other way.

......

Today I traveled over 3000 miles. 

I started my journey with my friend ryan.

We drove the beautiful coast of oahu, it was flawless.

.......

Then I flew out of Oahu during the day, this is just about the most perfect thing i can image.

The insanely blue and green water, the sand bars, and reef. 

The lord loves us, he totally does.

.......

Flying over the pacific ocean during sunset, 

without fail teaches me 

more than I could ever learn during a six hour flight.

Let me just tell you the sky was on fire.

It wasn't just a pretty sunset.. the sky was red, not a sunset coralish red, blood red.

it slowly faded into an orange I have never seen before..

then into yellow like the sun, into the deep blue which faded into the stars.

I have never seen anything more perfect 

and

 I have never felt closer to the stars.

.....

I could go on forever about the clouds,

the sun,

the stars,

and the birds eye of L.A.

 and Las Vegas,

but from this is learned something.

......

Magic is real.

It doesn't just exist.

It is something we make.

just a little hope to get us all through finals.

like a nestle tollhouse ice cream cookie sandwich.

Ever since I was little I have had this weird obsession with 
those nestle tollhouse ice cream cookie sandwiches..


ya know the ones they sell at gas stations that are always 
over priced and consume like a fourth of your daily calorie intake in one sandwich, unfortunate i know.


but they are good.. no lets try this again really good; we all know they are just about the best option in the ice cream bin with the runner up being choco-tacos, and push-up pops.


even though I know they are the most fattening gas station delicacy and even though the 3.79 price at the local chevron is definitely not worth what you get.. I continue to get them.


and every time i eat them my body, that decided for some reason in my nineteenth year decided to forget how to break down lactose, feels like i might die at any second. yet here I am..eating one as i write this.


luckily for us all that have the same obsession as me, due mostly to the milk content in the ice cream, the sandwich has 4 g of protein to help nourish your muscles. Sold.


no matter how sick i get when I eat these, or how bad I know they are for me I still keep on getting them, always wanting what i shouldn't, it's just human nature I am an insatiable creature.. I am pretty sure some of you out there can relate.


I have my temptations, my downfalls, and my obsession. We all want the bad boys, which we can't seem to stay clear of, we want the smartest person in a class, but then procrastination gets the best of us, and we always choose the most fattening treat, just like a nestle tollhouse ice cream cookie sandwich. 


why is this?


We live in the moment. now i'm all for being free spirited and going with what life brings your way but we loose sight of what we really want and this is a reasons we want what is bad for us. This is why the bad boys are appealing, why we procrastinate, and why we eat dessert. This is why we are insatiable creatures.

proposal: help the world and see the world.


the other day i was talking to my friend lauren about how we want to help the world and see the world. i can't imagine a better combination.


nothing is more fasinating than seeing the beautiful world around us, being in new places, new situations, with new people.


the thought of being in a new city-- where you know nobody and have no idea where anything is. mmmm it's perfect.


and nothing could feel better than serving, lauren is a good one to learn that from.


one beach clean up at a time, one stop and serve project later, one piece of plastic to recycle , one benefit concert planned, we will and can make a difference. 


alot of people probably believe that I am just a naive ninteen year old girl that thinks i know way more than I actually do..  fact this that might be true.


judge me not. i get called a hippie alot, i get called young-more than ever, i get called "cute little girl" which isn't exactly the description of choice, i burn incense probably to much, try to get my roommates to meditate with me more than a normal person should, but through this all I do know this- I believe that I am capable. 


I know that right now isn't my time to see the world. But it will come. for now i am just going to help the world and be perfectly content with where my father in heaven has me.  And lauren one day we will see the world. and we will forever help the world. 


just by getting out of bed in the morning we make an impact on the world. no matter how little or how small our impact is we can help.

needless to say it got me through mid terms cause I read it about four times one night alone. If you haven't read it in a while  I would recommend it.

a hope for all the hopeless.

For starters, I'm not a writer. Most my English teachers could tell you that but I have learned a thing or two this past year about having hope for love. So Kris, this is for you babe.

A year ago next month you wrote this post for me.

You taught me a lot about life and what to gear up for...but i will never for get what you taught me about love.

You told me not be afraid to fight for love and to love with all my spunky heart, because it is worth the fight.

You told me I'd be the source and the victim of heartbreak, but through it all love is worth fighting for.

I can't tell you how many times i've read that blog post over and over again.
It got me through my highest highs and lowest lows in Hawaii.

And every time i read it, it becomes more and more true. There is something to say about hope..hope for the world...hope for people...hope for the stars...hope for peace..
but most of all hope for love.

The topic of love is among the most fragile delicate of subjects that there is. And i can't say i know much about the topic except that I am 100% head over heels in love with the idea of being in love. I also know that I have never been more afraid of anything in my life. (I know I try to act like I can take over the world without a fear but fact is i have lots of them.)

Unconditionally loving is something we all aim for.

We dream of love, pray for love, and hope for love. Some of the things in life I was born to love. Others I have learned to love. Most of all loving unconditionally is something I strive for...scares me to death...but one day I know my heart will be open to loving with all that I am.

We put up walls, trust less, and lose hope.

At first it seemed I was the only one who put up walls when it came to love. But when we are being completely honest, these walls come from any love being lost...from anyone...at anytime.

I have hope for the day that I meet him and when I know. I will never need anything but him to make me perfectly happy. And I have hope that love will work out for all those who it has not yet graced.

So this is a hope for all of the hopeless out there.

Don't be afraid to love.

Love what you do.

Love where you are.

Love who you are with.

Love what surrounds you.

Love what your passionate about and love the world around you. Because all of it is beautiful...every single tiny inch of it.

Loving is the purest form of happiness.

Allow walls to fall. Trust in loving and unconditionally love. Love is the greatest hope we can have.

So give a hand to the world.

Give a hand to the people.

Give a hand to peace...and give a hand to hope and having hope for love.

 i am finally ninteen 

my sister siera is amazing and she made the day wonderful

here are some of the highlights:

Spending four wonderful hours in sacrament meetings with my bff McCall.

Seeing star, bbj, t-rom, the schwarz, beal family, dillon, chasey, stacie, kenz, and allison.

Skyping those who couldn't be here with me.

Bike riding and swinging in the park.

rafting a raging river of boulders.

every meal being perfect thanks to siera and shell bell.

a ridiculously long game of traditional Disney charades with the Warwick's and Nate. 

cookie dough ice cream and yellow cake with chocolate frosting.

my incredibly cute decorations.

and topping it off with a hilarious movie and the best bitchin shirt ever made.

best wish i've ever made.
